A Hint of Summer
By Hotel Valentina
Summer is just around the corner as the countryside in Malta starts changing colour from a deep lush green to a rich golden yellow. The rains will become scarcer now and winds will begin to calm down. The sunshine becomes stronger and the locals are now beginning to fill the beaches on the weekend.
The air begins to fill with the smells and sounds of summer too; the first BBQs of the season have already been lit and the distant thud of fireworks fill the air during the evening. Al Fresco is the way to go from now on – outdoor dining & events really start to pick up as the evenings start to warm. Restaurant terraces and massive open-air clubbing venues come into their own with the changing weather.
The wedding season in Malta also kicks off around this time with so many Brides to be waiting eagerly for the weather to start to clear so that they may spend their special day celebrating, dancing under the stars wit their friends and family.
Foodies are in for a treat too, with ample local produce and food coming into season from the fresh fish like Amber Jack to Red-Bream to freshly picked sweet Black Mulberry’s and Peaches.
So if you fancy visiting in May, Malta’s not short of wonderful experiences to offer, from great weather, food events and beaches.
