Visit Good Friday procession to witness the re-enactment with people dressed in biblical clothes, parading the streets to displaytheir reflection. Many also dress in white robes and hoods and sometimes walk barefoot with chains attached to their ankles to show their remorse.
In contrast to the more sombre tone, Easter Sunday is a joyful occasion, the air filled with Church Bells beautifully complimented by the sweet smell of figolli, a traditional Maltese almond filled pastry shaped in symbols like hearts, lambs, and fish, for all children to enjoy. The merrymaking continues as brass bands play festive music and families come together for special Easter meals.
